Bio
Pujya joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 2019 by securing an All India Rank 11 in the Civil Services Examination 2018.
A nomad since childhood, she has lived and studied in different parts of the world, including Japan, Mauritius, Syria, and the US. An alumna of Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, she did her Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia University in New York, where she specialized in International Economic Policy.
Prior to joining the Government of India, Pujya has worked and interned in diverse organizations, including the United Nations, and a couple of private entities. Her areas of interest are international trade, migration and diaspora.
As an author and writer, she has co-authored an e-book titled Catching Fireflies. Her travel articles have been published in The Hindu. She blogs at https://theatlasbug.wordpress.com. Her paper titled “NRI Marriages: Reality, Ramifications and Recourse to Justice” was presented at the “International Conference on Empowering Women” in New Delhi in 2018.
Pujya has served at the Indian Embassy in Paris and is currently posted as Under Secretary (Northern Europe) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
