Bio
Ambassador Prashant Agrawal joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1998. In a distinguished career, he served in France and Mauritius; as Deputy Ambassador in Thailand; as Consul General in Hong Kong and Macau; as High Commissioner to Namibia; and as Ambassador to Laos.
He has held various roles in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, and currently serves as Additional Secretary (South), overseeing India’s relations with South East Asia.
An IIT Kanpur graduate and member of the Aspen Global Leaders Network, he is a keen photographer, avid reader, connoisseur of Indian art and world heritage, and passionate about protecting our planet and fellow sentient travellers for future generations.
His latest book Bringing the Cheetah Back to India narrates the human drama behind one of conservation’s most ambitious experiments. From presidential palaces and high offices in Namibia to fast-paced action in New Delhi, it tells the astonishing story of how nations joined hands in a race against time to resurrect a ghost, restore an ecosystem and rewrite the rules of re-wilding itself.
