Bio
Poonam Surie is an Adjunct Fellow at the Institute of Chinese Studies, New Delhi. An author and a poet, she is also an educator. She has taught at Delhi University and been a Visiting Fellow at the Indian Council of World Affairs. Living across different continents has provided a diverse perspective and versatility to her writing. She has written three books about the philosophical underpinnings of civilizations, religion and contemporary Chinese society.
She also has three published books of poetry. Her first Dancing on a Moonbeam (2009 Konark) deals with matters such as social inequalities, partition, the angst of women and the stresses of life in the 21st Century. Her second book of poetry, Scattered Rays, published in January 2018, is about the multitude of emotions, experiences and reflections that exist in the subconscious. The third book, Navigating the Tides of Life is about moving across a wide canvas of experiences and searching for answers while being connected to one’s roots.
