A writer, traveller and sustainable tourism specialist Lisa Choegyal has made Kathmandu her home since 1974 when she first arrived to trek the Himalayan trails.
With a background in the private sector pioneering wildlife, mountain and adventure travel in South Asia, she undertakes consultancy roles throughout the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
Lisa is a writer and editor, regularly publishing books and articles on tourism and conservation. She is widely experienced in production liaison for international documentary and feature films, serves on a number of pro-bono organisations in Nepal, New Zealand, UK and USA, and since 2010 is New Zealand Honorary Consul to Nepal.
She is currently working on a memoir about early tourism in Nepal, and finalising Painting Nepal: the British Influence 1790-1890 with the Saraf Foundation.
